Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Mats Hummels will be out for up to two weeks with a knee injury.
The defender has been ruled out of the Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin on Sunday, and is expected to miss the next few games as well.
Hummels joined Borussia Dortmund from Schalke in the summer transfer window, and has made over 100 appearances for the club so far.
He has also played for Germany at international level, making 27 appearances for his country since 2014.
The injury is a major blow for Dortmund,Campeonato Brasileiro Action who are currently second in the Bundesliga table and looking to challenge for the title this season.
With Hummels out, it remains to be seen how they will cope without him in their defence.
However, the club will hope that he can recover quickly and return to full fitness in time for the important matches ahead.
